Piwakawaka (Years 4, 5 and 6)
We have finally completed our mosaic! Now we just need some good weather so that we can ad it to the path outside.
Nathan proudly shows off his lamb.
Calf club was a wonderfully busy time. Piwakawaka was transformed by some marvelous floral creations.
Term 3 and 4 has seen the senior hub investigating electricity. We have been working on a giant map of the area, using our new found knowledge of electric circuits, to create different ways of using power. Our girls have been busy making a blinking Christmas tree.
Welcome to the Piwakawaka class page!
We are a combined Year 4, 5 and 6 class and our teacher is Ms Sue Rogers.
Beach safety was our main focus for the beginning of the term. We took a trip out to Sunset Beach at Port Waikato to learn how to stay safe on the beach and in the water.
We have now changed to an enviro focus. Piwakawaka are the Flower Power group, which means we are learning all about flowers, their structure and how they can help our school. We will be working out which flowers will be best to plant to help bring beneficial bugs, bees and birds to our school grounds. Our trip to the Auckland Botanic Garden helped to put a real world context to their learning.
