Learning opportunities at Pukekawa School include, but are not limited to, excursions to support learning, computer technology, outdoor education, environmental education, inter-school sports, musical tuition and rural traditions like Calf Club Day.
Te Reo Maori
Maori language is taught by all of the teachers at Pukekawa School as part of their normal classroom programme at a basic level.
We are also extremely privileged to have Ihia Rueben as one of our local Kaiako who take Te reo Maori and Kapa Haka sessions with our Year 4-6 students once a week.
We took part in the Puni Multicultural festival in 2021. We joined forces with Te Kohanga School and Onewhero Area School to practise and perform. The students did an incredible job and we were extremely proud of their performance.
